The General Behavior Activity fosters a team conversation about behavior. It is especially useful when forming new teams. The results of this activity serve as an ongoing guide for acceptable and unacceptable team behavior.

Running the activity:

  1. Separate the canvas in two areas with the following titles:
    * Wonderful behavior.
    * Unacceptable behavior.
  2. Ask participants to write down examples of wonderful behavior and unacceptable behavior on sticky notes and place them on the canvas.
  3. Discuss about the notes with the group.

Talking about behavior is important at any time, and it is especially important while forming a team. More than that, it is much easier to talk about desirable and undesirable behaviors that haven’t happened, helping set the expectation for the future.

Remote-team advice: This activity works well for remote teams. Use a remote board of your choice.
