Hopes and Concerns is a great activity for getting people to open up and share their feelings about what’s ahead.
Running the activity:
- Draw a vertical line on a canvas, splitting it on two sides with the titles: Hopes and Concerns.
- Ask participants to write down on a sticky note their hopes and concerns for what’s ahead (an event, workshop, next release, new project etc.).
- Group conversation about the notes.
This activity is especially useful for getting people to open up and talk about their feelings regarding something that is about to happen; therefore, it is a futurespective activity. Consider revisiting the hopes and concerns over time to verify if they are being addressed.
Remote-team advice: This activity works well for remote teams. Use a remote board of your choice.
